Giles has a simple philosophy to farming “Know where you live and farm with your gumboots on”
Giles “from the ground up” experience across numerous farms and farming types has meant he can merge the biological, operational, and financial framework to enhance a business. From 50/50 sharemilking, equity partnership, governance, and General Manager roles in both Islands and abroad, spanning twenty years has been pivotal to developing a strong understanding of the agriculture sector. Giles is as comfortable in the milking shed as he is in the board room. The appetite for challenge and learning still burns, having recently completed the Fonterra Governance Development Programme.
Giles can help with strategy, farm systems, financial budgeting and analysis, feed budgeting, HR and governance. In addition, he has valuable hands on experience in sheep milking, from conversion to commercial, with many farm owners utilising his experience with strategy in this area.
Giles and his wife Clare are currently involved in a joint venture farming business milking cows and sheep on the same farm near Hamilton.
