The team at NZ Farm Management are very strong in the farm management area and are all closely involved with the day to day operation of our own farm businesses. Our team focus on working with the farm team to identify areas for improvement and upskilling. We work with a range of farm systems from low to high input. Our goal is to maximise pasture harvested as the cheapest feed and then strategically use supplements, ensuring there is a response to imported feed. We look at all farm key performance indicators and analyse the farm system.

Our group of consultants are very strong in this department. We use templates and feed budgeting programmes to come up with an annual feed budget and then break it down into smaller segments for management throughout the season. In the spring we use the industries spring rotation planner along with meters squared and average pasture covers. We use feed wedges for surplus management and to identify surpluses. In the autumn period we do feed budgets which has the farmers meeting pasture cover.

Succession planning is very important for a business of any size. A profitable business is a lot easy to success onto the next generation than a business in difficulty. We help farmers determine where they want to go and help with those conversations that can be sometimes too difficult to have.
